General Hardware Support Request

What Is It?

This service is provided for all university owned non-printer related IT equipment on campus.  Devices covered under these type of requests will be related to a desktop, laptop, or tablet computer as well as most peripheral devices that are used by faculty and staff for their day-to-day operations.  Peripheral devices include scanners, mice, keyboards, portable (flash) drives, and other items that are attached to your workstation.  For printing support, we offer a separate category for support and service request.

Who is Eligible to Use It?

University faculty and staff.

How Do I Use It?

Use the "Request Assistance with IT Hardware" button at the top of this page to submit a ticket to the USI IT Service Desk team. 

How Much Does It Cost?

Depending upon the nature of the requested repair, if the item is or is not covered under a manufactures warranty, and if the device is covered under the general IT maintenance contract, repair costs can vary.
