What Is It?
The IT Service Desk provides loaner laptops for employees who are in need of a portable device to use, whether it's for and on-campus event or for use off-campus to complete job related responsibilities. The majority of the loaner laptops offer Microsoft Windows 11 Enterprise along with Microsoft Office 365, are already registered for the campus wireless network, and will require your email address as your primary user name when logging in to the device. A power adapter is included with the loaner laptop and items such as wired mice and docking station available for check out as well. To borrow one of the loaner laptop laptops, follow these steps:
- Fill out an IT Loaner Laptop Request work order.
- If you need other items, please make note of such under the comment section.
- Wait for the confirmation from the IT Service Desk staff.
- Go to the Information Technology (IT) offices on the pickup date to get your laptop.
- Return the device to the IT Service Desk on the return date.
- The borrower is responsible for any damage or loss of the equipment and may be charged a fee accordingly.
Pick up equipment in the Rice Library (RL) basement in room 0026 between the hours of 8-4pm, Monday through Friday.
Who is Eligible to Use It?
Any current faculty or staff employee of the university.
How Do I Use It?
Use the red Reserve a Loaner Laptop button at the top of this page to submit a ticket to the USI IT Service Desk Team. A member of the service desk team can provide assistance with logging in to the laptop for your first use upon request at time of pickup.
How Much Does It Cost?
There is no fee associated with this service unless the equipment has been damaged or lost.
