Transfer Calls

Overview

This article provides step-by-step instructions for transferring calls on Teams Phones. You can transfer calls with or without consulting the recipient first.  Note: It is generally considered a best practice to consult with the intended recipient before transferring the call.

Yealink Desk Phone

Transfer With Consulting

1. Click Transfer.

2. Click Consult First.

3. Enter the name or number of the user you want to consult with. Then, click Call to start the consultation. The original caller will be placed on hold while you speak with the consulted user.

 

4. You are now speaking with the consulted user. From here, click Transfer to connect the original caller to the consulted user, completing the transfer.

Transfer Without Consulting

1. Click Transfer.

2. Click Transfer now.

3. Enter the name/number of the user you want to transfer the call to. Then, click the phone icon.

Transfer With Consulting

1. Click Transfer.

2. Click Consult then transfer.

3. Enter the name or number of the user you want to consult with. Then, click Start a call to start the consultation. The original caller will be placed on hold while you speak with the consulted user.

4. This will open a new Teams window for your call with the consulted user. On this window, click Transfer to connect the original caller to the consulted user, completing the transfer.

Transfer Without Consulting

1. Click Transfer.

2. Click Transfer.

3. Enter the name/number of the user you want to transfer the call to. Then, click Transfer.

3. Enter the name or number of the user you want to consult with. Then, click their number to start the consultation. The original caller will be placed on hold while you speak with the consulted user.

4. You are now speaking with the consulted user. From here, click the arrow icon at the top then Transfer to connect the original caller to the consulted user, completing the transfer.

1. Click Transfer.

2. Click Transfer now.

3. Enter the name/number of the user you want to transfer the call to. Then, click Transfer.
