Enrolling in MFA Bypass for One Day.

Overview

The myUSI login requires a MFA factor to login, but sometimes the MFA is not operating properly or the user forgets their phone and cannot access their account. There is a solution in the form of a 1-day MFA bypass that we recommend only using when the user cannot access MFA instead of those who don't want to use MFA but can access it.

Before You Begin

You will need: Your account credentials, ID Number, birthday, last name, and a personal/external email on file with USI.

Steps

  1. Go to portal.usi.edu
  2. On the sign in screen, click on the link that says "Need help with multifactor authentication (MFA)?"
  3. That will redirect you to a form that will need to have all fields filled out in order for the MFA bypass to take effect.
  4. Once submitted, it can take up to 15 minutes for the MFA bypass to take effect.

Additional Info

This bypass only lasts for a day, and requires an email on file to receive a code that will be entered into the form.
