Add or Change Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Methods

Overview

A brief summary detailing how to add or remove an MFA method.

Before You Begin

You will need a computer to login to weblogin.usi.edu and a phone or YubiKey.

Steps

  1. Login to https://weblogin.usi.edu.

  2. Click on your name, then choose Settings (top right).

  3. Click Edit Profile, then scroll down to Security Methods.

  4. Choose Set up by the factor option you wish to add, or Remove by the factor you want to remove. After 3/17/25, Phone will no longer be an option. You will need to select one of the other options. We highly recommend using Okta Verify with push notifications and Google Authenticator.

Additional Info

You can have more than one form of secondary authentication.  USI recommends having more than one. Please note the Phone option, if you have selected it, will be removed from user accounts starting on 3/17/2025. If you use this method, you can remove it yourself and setup other methods.
